We’re listening
The Masterplan was adopted by West Lancashire Borough Council only after extensive consultation with the public and key stakeholders.
That’s as it should be.
As we move forward and add more detail to the project’s individual elements we shall continue to ensure that the public’s ideas and views are heard.
To this end we have already formed our Youth Panel and will establish wider community engagement in due course.
Where major projects are put forward for detailed planning permission, we will fully consult on the proposals.
Shaping tomorrow’s leaders
The Better Skem Youth Panel has been established in partnership with West Lancashire College and comprises 20 students from the area with varied interests and study paths.
They represent the future of the town and understanding their aspirations and ambitions is vital if we are to craft a town centre that serves their current and future needs.
The Panel will meet four times per year, working to a set agenda so that we benefit as much as possible from their energy and insights.
Think of them as our youthful brains trust.
